Senior Purchase Ledger Assistant / Leicester City Centre / up to £27,000 / Permanent / 80% Office based

This - expanding company located close to Leicester City Centre are seeking a motivated and capable individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior Purchase Ledger Assistant. Responsibilities:

As a Senior Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will play a vital role in the finance department, ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of invoices, expense claims, and payments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to motivate and lead a team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Checking and processing invoices and expense claims: Verifying that invoices and expense claims are correctly authorised and approved before processing them through Dynamics, the financial system.
  • Generation of payment runs and remittance advices: Preparing payment runs and generating remittance advices for suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Posting payments through Dynamics: Recording and posting payments in the financial system to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Reconciliation of the Purchase Ledger: Conducting monthly reconciliations of the Purchase Ledger and performing necessary month-end routines to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Month-end reporting: Assisting in the preparation of month-end reports, contributing to financial analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Driving and achieving KPIs: Collaborating with the team to set and achieve key performance indicators, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in purchase ledger activities.
  • Reviewing current procedures and processes: Continuously evaluating and improving existing procedures and processes to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and principles.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including proficiency in financial systems
  • Ability to present and train across the business, both in writing and verbally, demonstrating effective communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels in a clear, concise, and professional manner, fostering effective working relationships.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
