Credit Control Supervisor - South Leicestershire/Market Harborough - Up to £32,000 - Permanent

We're partnering with a leading company in the manufacturing sector, and they're on the lookout for a dedicated and proactive Senior Credit Control Supervisor to oversee their UK operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

• Supervise a team of 2 UK Credit controllers.
• Be the go-to person for support and guidance, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Handle holiday requests and manage returns for sick/emergency leave.
• Conduct annual appraisals, setting objectives for continuous improvement.

Sales Ledger Management:

• Take charge of the day-to-day operations of a ledger
• Conduct monthly credit account reviews to mitigate risk and ensure insurance coverage.
• Drive customer collections for timely payments, resolving disputes promptly.
• Manage cash receipt allocation and reconcile to bank statements.
• Handle month-end reporting and related provisions.

Cash Flow Oversight:

• Assume overall responsibility for the cash receipts forecast of UK subsidiaries.
• Prepare cash receipts forecasts for the assigned subsidiary.
• Compile team cash receipts forecasts and provide summaries to the Credit Manager.

Legal Recovery:

• Escalate debts to third-party collection agents post dunning process completion.
• Complete collection files, monitoring progress, and providing monthly updates.
• Ensure compliance with all legal recovery procedures.

International Collaboration:

• Provide ad hoc support to the Germany Credit Controller.
• Offer holiday cover when required.

Measurement of Effectiveness:

Credit Control:

• Ensure the smooth running and supervision of the UK Credit Control department.
• Maintain a minimized aged debt for UK subsidiaries.
• Achieve on-time, in-full payments to meet DSO target days.

Credit Risk:

• Manage credit risk through credit insurance.
• Regularly review discretionary limits and report doubtful debts to the Credit Manager.

Cash Allocation and Forecasting:

• Post cash receipts promptly and accurately.
• Accurately forecast weekly cash receipts for the UK subsidiary.

Reporting:

• Provide accurate and timely month-end reporting for all UK subsidiaries.

Personal Specification:

Essential Experience:

• Previous experience as a Senior Credit Control/Credit Control Supervisor.
• Experience in a multi-site and currency organisation.
• Proficient in preparing and reviewing AR month-end reports.
• Knowledge of monthly provisions.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with credit agencies and credit insurance.
• Familiarity with recognised ERP packages.
