Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented payroll enthusiast with a knack for precision and confidentiality? We've got an amazing opportunity for you to join our client's dynamic team at their head office! Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking a talented Payroll Administrator to ensure the smooth processing of pay for over 1300 employees.

About the Role: As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be an integral part of the payroll team, managing a weekly payroll for approximately 400 employees and three separate monthly payrolls for around 900 employees. From pensions and childcare vouchers to handling attachment of earnings orders, you'll be the go-to person for all things payroll!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls in collaboration with the payroll manager.
  • Collect, calculate, and enter data, ensuring accuracy in timesheets and payroll information.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address colleague pay queries with finesse.
  • Prepare BACS and third-party payments.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative regulations and accurate calculations for elements such as maternity, pensions, and national insurance.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager in month-end accounting and reconciliations.
  • Dive into pension administration and prepare reports for analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams for seamless operations.

Job Holder Requirements: Essential:

  • Impeccable attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • High computer literacy, including advanced Excel skills (Pivots, formulas, etc.).
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with an excellent telephone manner.

Desirable:

  • Previous payroll experience is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with outsourced payroll processes.
  • Knowledge of I-Trent systems.
  • Experience with systems change/projects.
