Position Overview: The company is currently seeking a Part-Time Credit Controller to support their finance department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of credit control, ensuring timely payment from clients and maintaining positive relationships. This role offers the opportunity to work three days per week, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the end-to-end credit control process, including invoicing, chasing outstanding payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Monitoring aged debtors and taking appropriate actions to minimise overdue payments.
- Communicating effectively with clients to resolve payment issues and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records of all credit control activities and updating the finance team regularly on debt status.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve queries and disputes in a timely manner.
- Preparing regular reports on cash flow, debtor ageing, and credit control performance for management review.
- Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar credit control role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of credit control principles and practices, including debt recovery procedures and legal requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflicts.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting would be advantageous.
