Payroll and Pensions Supervisor - Leicester City Centre

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Location: Hybrid working with an average of 2 days in the office per week

About the Role:

As the Payroll and Pensions Supervisor, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager, playing a pivotal role in maintaining a professional payroll service while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. Your responsibilities will include supervising and supporting the Payroll team, implementing systems and processes to optimise service delivery, and ensuring accurate processing of payroll transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day supervision and technical guidance to the Payroll team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly payroll and pensions data.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for query escalations and customer inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and procedural changes.
  • Oversee statutory and regulatory responsibilities related to payroll and pensions.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and efficiency.
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues, maintaining a robust training program.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to new software/systems.
  • Experience in payroll processing and pension administration.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
