Job Description

Position Overview:

Macildowie are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant / Finance Manager to support this Finance team through a busy period, on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, performing balance sheet reconciliations, conducting financial analysis, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. This role will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and providing valuable insights to support decision-making.

For the right candidate, there is potential within the company for a similar role to follow this 6 month FTC.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct general ledger review to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations, including VAT accounts, to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of management information packs, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Assist with external audit processes, providing documentation and explanations as needed.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred; or demonstrably qualified by experience (QBE)
  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis / modelling tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
