Financial Controller | East Nottinghamshire | £65,000 +
As Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the finance team, working closely with the CFO to oversee all aspects of the financial operations. This is a dynamic, high-impact role requiring someone who can both manage the day-to-day finance functions and help shape the company's future success by contributing to our growth strategy. You will be instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving cost efficiencies, and helping the company scale profitably while managing financial risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Control: Ensure the preparation and timely delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring compliance with all regulations and internal policies.
- Business Partnering & Support: Work closely with the CFO and senior management team to provide financial insights that inform decision-making and strategy. Support the business in key financial areas such as cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Profitability & Growth Strategy: Drive cost-effective solutions and operational efficiencies, helping to optimise margins and boost profitability. Assist with strategic planning, identifying key opportunities for investment and cost control as the business scales.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the business has the funds it needs to operate and grow. Provide advice on capital investment opportunities and financing options as required.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline financial processes and systems, driving efficiency as the business scales. Work with the CFO to implement best practices that support long-term profitability.
- Leadership & Team Development: Take ownership of the financial reporting team's development, providing guidance and leadership to junior finance staff, helping them develop their skills while ensuring high-quality outputs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and controls.
- Proven experience in a hands-on finance role, ideally within an SME, owner-managed, or fast-growing business environment.
