Accounts Payable Assistant
Job Description
Macildowie are working with this client based in Warwick to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant - Purchase Ledger on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an office-based role within a successful and well-established business, reporting to the UK Finance Manager.
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum (up to £29,000 for the right candidate)
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
The Role
You will play a key role within a friendly and supportive finance team, ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function. Core duties include:
Processing and coding approximately 250-300 supplier invoices per week
Managing mid-month and end-of-month payment runs
Handling supplier queries and liaising with different internal departments
Statement reconciliations and chasing outstanding invoices
Processing company credit cards using a newly implemented system
Preparation of VAT reports for the UK, Spain, and Germany
Bank reconciliations and assisting with ad hoc treasury and month-end reporting
Covering sales ledger duties, including creation of accounts and debtor reporting, when required
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to grow, with exposure to additional areas such as VAT returns, debtors' reporting, and bank reconciliations once settled.
About You
Previous experience in a purchase ledger/accounts payable role
Able to work independently, with excellent organisational skills
Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Good Excel skills and understanding of best financial practice
Experience with Kerridge (highly desirable)
AAT Level 2/3 desirable but not essential
A team player who enjoys a sociable and supportive working environment
