Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: North Leicester
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Management Accountant to join a rapidly growing and innovative business based in North Leicester. This is a key position, responsible for preparing accurate and timely management accounts, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal financial controls. The role will involve close collaboration with senior leadership and operational teams, providing essential financial insight and support to drive performance improvements and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, ensuring the financial information supports decision-making and meets internal and regulatory requirements.
Variance Analysis: Monitor project performance, conducting variance analysis and providing detailed commentary against budget and forecast.
Operational Reporting: Work with operational teams to analyse financial and operational performance, provide insight into key drivers, and identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
Balance Sheet & VAT Reconciliation: Reconcile control and balance sheet accounts, prepare VAT returns, and manage inventory control processes.
Cash Flow & Working Capital: Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts, monitor working capital, and ensure liquidity management aligns with business needs.
Costing & Margin Analysis: Perform detailed costing analysis, manage WIP (work in progress) reporting, and provide margin analysis to support profitability targets.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial procedures, industry regulations, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP).
Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation for year-end audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure a smooth audit process.
Financial Systems & Processes: Support the implementation, improvement, and streamlining of financial systems and processes.
Ad Hoc Support: Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.
Line Management: Oversee the Purchase Ledger function, managing and mentoring the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Person Specification:
Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
Experience: Proven experience in month-end processing and management accounting. Experience with project accounting, job costing, and construction finance cycles is highly advantageous.
Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented approach. Able to prioritise effectively, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
