Job Description

Financial Analyst
Location: Leicester (flexible/hybrid options available)
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum

Are you a commercially driven Financial Analyst who loves getting close to the operational heartbeat of a business? Do you want to join a high-growth, data-led organisation where your insight directly shapes performance, efficiency and customer experience?

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly scaling business in Leicester, taking on a broad and high-impact analytical role across Operations, Marketing, and FP&A. You'll act as a true business partner using data, financial modelling and commercial insight to drive decision-making across the estate.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll partner closely with Operations to understand and optimise how the estate performs day-to-day.
Business partner with Operations to review weekly trading performance, analyse variances vs budget, and identify the key drivers influencing labour, COGS and throughput.
Build and maintain site-level P&Ls, providing full visibility of unit economics and driving accountability with Area Managers and Ops Leads.
Support new store openings through modelling, labour assumptions, capacity planning and post-opening reviews.
Analyse operational KPIs such as labour productivity, throughput, waste, dwell time and transaction mix, converting data into actionable recommendations.
Lead financial planning for operational initiatives: process optimisation, menu engineering, packaging changes and supply chain improvements.
Provide scenario modelling around store-level decisions.
Design and improve operational dashboards (Power BI / SQL), working closely with the data warehouse engineer to enhance data architecture and reporting efficiency.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to forecast demand, model inflation impacts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Assess new capacity additions or relocations through cannibalisation modelling, breakeven and demand analysis.
Own the financial review rhythm for Operations, producing insight packs and decision-making tools that drive performance.
You'll also act as a commercial partner to Marketing, ensuring investment is targeted, measurable and ROI-positive.
Build commercial business cases for campaigns, promotions, digital initiatives and channel growth.
Own budgeting, forecasting and ROI analysis for all marketing spend.
Evaluate new product launches, menu changes and pricing decisions.
Develop KPIs and reporting frameworks covering media performance, voucher redemptions, digital engagement and CRM effectiveness.
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles for operational and marketing cost lines.
Develop integrated financial models linking footfall, mix, service times, campaign ROI, pricing and margin.

What We're Looking For
Strong analytical and modelling capability, ideally gained in a multi-site retail, hospitality, FMCG or consumer business.
Confident business partner: able to challenge, influence and translate data into clear commercial insight.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; Power BI and/or SQL experience strongly preferred.
Comfortable working with large datasets and understanding the structure of data architecture (without needing to maintain it).
Curious, proactive and commercially minded, with a passion for making data meaningful.
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
