Part Time Finance Assistant | Market Harborough | Temp to Perm | £28,000
Macildowie are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Market Harborough to recruit a Part-Time Finance Assistant on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This role will see you working closely alongside the Management Accountant, supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function within a small and collaborative team. It's an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in transactional finance who enjoys a varied role and is comfortable working independently.
The Role
You will support a broad range of transactional finance activities, including:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and resolving supplier queries
- Raising and issuing sales invoices
- Supporting credit control when required
- Preparing supplier payment runs (BACS)
- Processing and reconciling staff expenses
- Completing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting ad hoc finance tasks
Systems
The team currently uses Sage and Xero. Experience with either system would be advantageous, though candidates familiar with similar accounting systems will also be considered.
Working Pattern
- 22.5 hours per week
- Flexible structure:
- 3 full days, or
- 4 shorter days
The role is fully office-based in Market Harborough.
Salary & Benefits
- Up to £28,000 FTE depending on experience (pro rata)
- 24 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata)
- Office closure between Christmas and New Year
- Free on-site parking
About You
You will likely have previous experience in a transactional finance or accounts assistant role, with exposure to:
- Purchase and sales ledger
- Supplier reconciliations and payment runs
- Bank reconciliations
- Supporting month-end processes
You will also be organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working within a small finance team, where you will play an important role supporting the Management Accountant and keeping day-to-day finance operations running smoothly.
