Accounts Assistant - Burton-on-Trent
Salary: £25,000
Full-Time or Part-Time

An opportunity has arisen for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Burton-on-Trent.

This role would suit someone with previous experience working within an accounts office who is confident supporting the day-to-day finance function and managing core accounting tasks. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring financial records are accurate and processes run efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:
* Performing daily bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies
* Maintaining the sales ledger including raising invoices and allocating receipts
* Assisting with purchase ledger tasks including processing supplier invoices and payments
* Supporting credit control activities including chasing outstanding debts and maintaining customer accounts
* Assisting with general accounts administration and ad-hoc finance tasks
* Ensuring accurate financial record keeping and compliance with internal procedures

The successful candidate will have:
* A minimum of two years' experience working within a general accounts office
* Proven experience completing bank reconciliations
* Hands-on experience managing sales and purchase ledger
* Credit control experience
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational and time management skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Desirable skills include:
* Basic knowledge of VAT
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
