Job Title: Finance Assistant (Temporary)
Location: Oadby - Office Based
Duration: 5 Weeks guaranteed - Likely Extension
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
Hours: 08:00 - 16:00

Macildowie are working with an organisation in Oadby to recruit a temporary Finance Assistant to support their finance team during a busy period. This role will suit someone with strong purchase ledger experience who is comfortable working with complex processes and managing a high-volume workload.

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the purchase ledger function and ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to manage approvals, maintain supplier records, and resolve queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices through a complex purchase ledger process
  • PO matching and ensuring invoices align with approved purchase orders
  • Managing the approval workflow for invoices across the organisation
  • Coding invoices to the correct cost centres
  • Setting up new suppliers on the finance system and maintaining supplier data
  • Managing and responding to the finance queries mailbox
  • Resolving supplier and internal invoice queries in a timely manner
  • Supporting the wider finance team with general transactional finance tasks as required

About You

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger
  • Experience working with PO matching and approval workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple cost centres
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume queries mailbox
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal teams
  • Able to start immediately and commit to a temporary assignment of at least 5 weeks
