Job Description

Macildowie are working exclusively with a large organisation in Nottingham to appoint an experienced Employee Relations Manager, specifically within change management to lead on complex and sensitive cases. This includes organisational change, casework, staff engagement, and workforce planning and will be for an interim around 3-6 months initially.

The candidate will play a key role in supporting change management processes by ensuring fair, inclusive, and legally compliant implementation of change initiatives, including restructures, redeployments, and consultation processes.

The role is paying between £24 and £27 per hour plus holiday pay and offers hybrid working with around 2-3 days on site in Nottingham.

Key Duties

  • Manage a caseload of complex ER matters
  • Lead ER support for organisational change programmes, including consultation planning, change impact assessments, and redeployment strategies.
  • Provide advice on restructuring, role redesign, and redundancy processes, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practice.
  • Support managers through formal consultation processes, including communication planning and engagement with staff side representatives.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of change plans that are people-focused and minimise employee relations risks.
  • Coach and support managers to resolve issues informally where appropriate.
  • Lead and advise on formal investigations and hearings.
  • Support Employment Tribunal preparation as needed.
  • Supervise ER Advisors and support their development.
  • Identify and escalate ER and workforce implications of service redesign, transformation initiatives, or changes to operational models.
  • Contribute to the development of change-related toolkits, templates, and manager guidance to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Build capability in change leadership and ER compliance among People team colleagues.
