First Aider & Training Coordinator
Loughborough | Temporary 36 Months | Full Time | £13.00£15.00 per hour
Macildowie are currently working with a well-established education provider based in Loughborough to recruit a First Aider & First Aid Training Coordinator on a temporary basis for an initial 36 months.
This is a full-time, on-site position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am5:00pm, with an ASAP start.
The role will sit within the Health & Safety team and will be responsible for providing first aid support across the organisation, overseeing the on-call first aid team and coordinating first aid training for both staff and students.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary first aider and responding to requests for first aid assistance
- Administering first aid to students, staff and visitors when required
- Overseeing and supporting the on-call first aid team
- Coordinating first aid cover across the organisation
- Coordinating first aid training for staff and students
- Supporting with the delivery of first aid training sessions where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate first aid and training records
- Monitoring first aid qualifications and arranging refresher training when required
- Liaising with internal teams and external training providers
- Ensuring first aid equipment and supplies are appropriately maintained
- Supporting the wider Health & Safety team
- Helping to promote and maintain a positive culture of health, safety and wellbeing across the organisation
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- A recognised and current First Aid at Work qualification
- Previous experience working as a key or designated first aider
- A strong practical knowledge of administering first aid
- Confidence responding calmly and professionally to first aid incidents
- Strong organisation and coordination skills
- Good IT skills
- Excellent communication skills
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent
- Previous experience coordinating or delivering training would be advantageous
Experience working within education, health & safety, training, HR or a similar people-focused environment would be beneficial.
Due to the nature of the environment, the successful candidate will also need to be comfortable working with young people and supporting safeguarding requirements.
