Finance Manager with Xero
Location: Hucknall 
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, 5 days on site

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a fast-paced, operationally focused business in Nottingham. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a hands-on role offering broad responsibility across financial reporting, operational finance, and team leadership.

This position is ideal for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and driving improvements across finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Oversee year-end accounts and statutory reporting
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP / IFRS and HMRC requirements
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
  • Lead the audit process and liaise with external auditors

Operational Finance

  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and cashflow
  • Monitor working capital and cash forecasting
  • Ensure timely invoicing and effective collections

Team Management

  • Manage, mentor, and develop finance team members
  • Review work, set KPIs, and support ongoing training
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies

Business Support

  • Provide financial insight to senior management
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks

About You

  • Must have strong, hands-on experience using Xero (essential requirement)
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or QBE with strong experience)
  • 3–7+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of month-end processes, audit, and financial controls
  • Previous experience managing or supervising staff
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
