Finance Manager Nottingham | £55,000 – £65,000 per annum | Manufacturing
The Company My client is an established manufacturing business based in Nottingham with a strong operational footprint and ambitious growth plans. They are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day finance function and act as a key business partner to the senior leadership team.
The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the monthly reporting cycle, manage a small finance team, and play an active role in commercial and strategic decision-making. This is a broad, hands-on role — not a pure reporting position. You will be expected to challenge the business, drive margin improvement, and support the FD on key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the full management accounts and financial reporting cycle
- Managing and developing a small finance team, including day-to-day oversight and performance
- Owning the budgeting, forecasting, and business planning process
- Driving margin improvement through commercial analysis and challenge
- Delivering insightful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
- Supporting the FD on strategic projects, costing exercises, and capex appraisals
- Liaising with external auditors and managing the year-end process
- Maintaining robust financial controls and compliance across the business
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified accountant — CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
- Significant experience in a management accounts or finance business partnering role
- Previous people management experience — you will have direct reports
- Manufacturing, industrial, or FMCG background strongly preferred
- Confident presenting financial information to senior and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence at a senior level
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
