Assembly Technician
Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Macildowie are currently recruiting for Assembly Technician roles working for a growing business based in Ipswich. Responsible for producing high volume and high-quality OEM Hose Assemblies. Also responsible for always keeping their respective department area clean and tidy.
This is a permanent role working Monday - Friday and the option of working Saturday mornings for over time
THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assembling hoses to ensure they are fit for purpose to meet the required high industry standards and in line with the Red Pen quality check process.
To help produce hoses by pushing fittings into ferrules and adding caps to fittings to ensure the top quality of cleanliness is always achieved.
To operate production line hose assembly machines such as hose cutter and hose swagers.
To carry out respective quality checks as per the company's policy.
To operate the ferrule laser engraving machine to engrave ferrules in line with customer requirements prior to them being used to assemble hoses.
To support the kitting department if necessary.
To ensure that work areas are always kept clean, tidy and hazard free.
To actively contribute to the overall team activities and promote good working practices.
To log errors and offcuts as required.
To report all job card amendments to team leader to improve efficiency.
To report near misses, accidents and incidents as required.
Adhere to company Quality, Health and Safety policies.
Responsible for helping the business to identify opportunities for improvement as part of our business management and quality strategy. Also, to flag up any risks to our QMS from the operations you carry out.
Be involved with and support any audits within your department and comply with all internal/external audit resource and certification bodies.
EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
Experience of working in a production environment.
Previous Fluid Power Industry is preferred but not essential.
Educational qualifications that demonstrate proficiency in English Language and Maths
Able to act proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to Team Leader or Head of Operations.
The interpersonal skills necessary to develop and sustain effective relationships internally with other members of production team.
Able to work accurately with detailed information.
Possesses a high level of resilience and drive, able to be flexible and change direction as required and work well under pressure.
Demonstrates first class attention to details and team working skills.
Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets.
