Exciting Opportunity: Category Assistant
Location: Nottingham, NG2 Hybrid Working (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

We are working with a well established, family-owned wholesale business, who are looking for a Category Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a business that prides itself on delivering high-quality products and exceptional service.

About the Role


As a Category Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the Product Team, working across both Buying and Supply Chain functions. You will help ensure our product offering is market-leading, with competitive pricing, strong availability, and an attractive range of products. The role will involve close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring smooth operations and accurate data management.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires attention to detail, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to getting things done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Purchase Orders (POs) using SAP

  • Oversee Goods In booking processes and ensure accurate reporting

  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve delays and shortages

  • Maintain system accuracy, including stock due dates and supply status

  • Support the creation and management of product data in SAP and across systems

  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth product flow

  • Contribute to product lifecycle management and the management of new product development (NPD)

  • Provide valuable insights through regular reporting and analysis

About You


We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly s and detail-focused

  • A proactive communicator, able to build relationships across teams and with suppliers

  • Experienced in a similar role within buying, supply chain, or demand planning

  • Comfortable using SAP and advanced Excel, with strong data management skills

  • Able to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Committed to accuracy, customer service, and continuous improvement
