Senior Electrical Engineer

Loughborough University | Permanent | Excellent Package and Opportunity

I am delighted to be partnering with Loughborough University to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their high-performing Estates & Facilities Management team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development, maintenance, and compliance of the University's extensive electrical infrastructure across a vibrant and diverse campus.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to capital projects, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and manage maintenance programmes that keep the University's facilities running efficiently and safely.

Package:

  • Salary up to £56.5k
  • Year one market supplement of £8k (Payable at the end of first year)
  • Employer pension contrition of 14.5%
  • 43 days holiday - 35 days leave, 5 closure days and 8 days bank holiday
  • Hybrid working
  • Opportunity for CPD including support with Chartership

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of campus-wide electrical maintenance, minor projects, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Design, specify, and review electrical systems and manage external contractors.
  • Act as Responsible Person for selected electrical compliance areas.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and report on capital and revenue expenditure.
  • Supervise, develop, and support direct reports within the electrical team.

What We're Looking For:

  • HND or degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Background working client side or with a contractor.
  • Proven experience managing electrical infrastructure and compliance in complex estates.
  • Strong understanding of current electrical legislation, safety standards, and maintenance best practices.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
