Communications and Engagement Manager
Job Description
Macildowie are delighted to be working with a local authority in the East Midlands to recruit for a an interim Communications and Engagement Manager for an initial period of eight months. In this role you will lead the organisation's Communications and Engagement function including all internal and external communications, media relations, marketing, publications, events, community, employee engagement and social media management in line with their strategic goals.
Duration: 8 months FTC
Working hours: Monday to Thursday- 8.45am - 5.15pm
Friday- 8.45am - 4.45pm
Working Arrangement: Hybrid- 2/3 days in office in Nottinghamshire
Salary: £50,000 pro-rata
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Strategically lead the integrated Communications and Engagement function, ensuring clarity of vision including the implementation of external communication and events, Consultation and engagements, Internal communication, Community engagement and capacity building and Marketing campaigns.
- Maintain up to date contact databases for relevant community and customer data, ensuring adherence to the authorities Digital, Data and Technology Strategy.
- Lead on all media engagement, overseeing the safe planning of events, providing relevant advice to all interior and external stakeholders
- Seek and manage relevant funding opportunities to enable support to the local authority and community.
- Manage the financial budget and reporting on the service's budget, actions, indicators and risks in line with their objectives. Lead on any complaints, FOI or subject access requests as required.
- Oversee the Members' Pots Community Grants scheme and related funding, ensuring compliance with the law, including subsidy control and be on hand to offer guidance to the team as needed.
- Represent the local authority at internal and external meetings and events, including preparing and presenting reports as required.
