Macildowie are working exclusively with this client based in the Nottinghamshire area to recruit a Sales Manager for a specialist industrial business.
About the Business & Role
This is an established niche B2B industrial business, dealing with high-value technical products. Recent year-on-year company growth has been above 10% per annum, and the new Sales Manager will be key in stepping up that momentum. The business is introducing a structured CRM in mid next year (Salesforce), refining its lead approaches, and seeking a dynamic leader to bring more discipline and ambition to its sales operations.
We need a budding leader who still has a hunger for making sales themselves and managing some key accounts. You will lead a small sales team, driving sales growth in both existing and new areas, and help shape the marketing / lead generation efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage 2 Sales Executives/Business Development Managers
Develop and execute sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets
Analyse sales performance metrics, pipeline, forecasting, and reporting
Identify new market opportunities, competitive threats, and strategic growth paths
Own the sales process from lead qualification to closing, integrating new CRM (Salesforce) when live
Collaborate with marketing support (flyers, blogs, Linked In, compliance materials), overseeing a very small in-house marketing operation
Use (or commission) simple design/creative work (some experience using Adobe Creative Suite advantageous
Work closely with IT, operations, and senior leadership to align systems and processes
Person Specification / Candidate Profile
Essential:
Proven B2B sales leadership/management experience (senior account management, business development, or sales manager)
Previous exposure to structured lead generation and pipeline discipline
Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
Highly driven, energetic 'hunter' mindset
Ability to work autonomously and lead change
Experience with CRM systems; willingness to adopt Salesforce
Desirable / Advantageous:
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (or hands-on design / layout skills)
Experience with marketing content (blogs, flyers, Linked In)
