Finance Operations Manager – Interim

Leicester | Office-Based | Up to £400 per day | Interim

I’m partnering with a large, well-established organisation in Leicester to recruit an experienced Finance Operations Manager for a high-impact interim assignment.

This is a sizeable and fast-paced transactional finance operation, with Accounts Payable forming a major part of the remit. The business already has an established AP leadership structure in place, including two experienced AP Operations Managers, and this interim appointment will work alongside them to provide additional leadership capacity and support during a particularly busy period of change and operational activity.

You do not need to be a career AP Manager. We are open to experienced Finance Operations, Transactional Finance, Shared Services or broader Finance Managers who have a strong understanding of Accounts Payable and know how to lead teams in a high-volume environment.

The Role

Working alongside the existing AP Operations Managers, you’ll provide additional senior leadership support across the function, helping to maintain performance, strengthen processes and support ongoing change.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the leadership of a large transactional finance operation, with a significant focus on Accounts Payable

• Working alongside the existing AP Operations Managers to provide additional management capacity

• Managing and developing Team Leaders and operational finance teams

• Driving performance, productivity, accuracy and service levels

• Supporting high-volume invoice processing, payments, reconciliations and escalations

• Helping maintain strong financial controls and month-end processes

• Managing senior stakeholders and key supplier relationships

• Identifying operational bottlenecks and driving process improvements

• Supporting automation, systems enhancement and wider transformation activity

• Bringing additional structure, pace and leadership support during a busy period

You could currently be working as a:

• Finance Operations Manager

• Transactional Finance Manager

• Shared Services Manager

• Accounts Payable Manager

• Financial Operations Manager

The key requirement is that you have strong operational leadership experience and a solid understanding of Accounts Payable.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience leading sizeable finance or transactional teams

• Experience managing through Team Leaders / Supervisors

• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and controls

• Experience within a high-volume, fast-paced environment

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Evidence of improving processes, controls and team performance

• Experience supporting change, transformation or periods of increased operational pressure

• A proactive, hands-on leadership style with the confidence to challenge and improve
