Job Description

Join a busy finance team in Northampton where your Credit Control expertise will make an immediate impact. This is a Temporary 8-week office-based assignment, with flexibility to consider both full-time and part-time hours, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and quickly take ownership of the debtor ledger.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control and AR process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and accurate maintenance of customer accounts. Working closely with finance and commercial teams, you will support cash flow, minimise risk, and provide clear visibility of debtor performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chase outstanding debts to reduce aged debt and improve cash collection.
  • Manage the AR cycle, including raising and allocating invoices, credit notes, and receipts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate, up-to-date account balances.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries and disputes, liaising with internal teams and customers to reach timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records and update accounting system accordingly.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in credit control OR collections role in the UK.
  • Strong AR management background, including reconciliations and query resolution.
  • Confident user of SAP would be a distinct advantage
  • Confident Excel skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Effective negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to commit to an 8-week temporary, office-based assignment in Northampton, on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in a high-volume, multi-customer environment.
  • Background in credit control within a similar industry or B2B setting.
  • Familiarity with cash flow forecasting tools and techniques.
  • Experience working with SAP is a distinct advantage
