Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Macildowie are currently recruiting for a Planning Administrator on behalf of a well-established organisation in the housing sector, based in Wigston, Leicester. This key role will support the planning and coordination of housing and development projects, serving as a critical point of contact for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Working closely with the Planning Team Leader, the successful candidate will handle a range of administrative and customer-focused responsibilities, ensuring smooth communication and process efficiency across planning applications and housing development workflows.

This is a full-time ongoing temporary position, Monday to Friday, offering a hybrid working model.

THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the first point of contact for planning and development-related enquiries via telephone, email, and digital platforms
  • Support the planning team with administrative tasks such as managing documentation, updating internal systems, and coordinating submissions for planning applications
  • Liaise with residents, contractors, housing officers, and local authorities to manage communication around project timelines, approvals, and updates
  • Process and monitor planning applications, ensuring all relevant documentation is submitted accurately and on time
  • Maintain and update internal planning and housing CRM systems with project progress, stakeholder communications, and scheduling details
  • Prepare reports, raise purchase orders, and process invoices related to planning and housing development activities
  • Provide first-line support to customers experiencing issues related to planning queries or system navigation
  • Assist in organising planning meetings, site visits, and community consultations, ensuring all resources and communications are delivered effectively
  • Ensure data quality by cleansing and maintaining accurate records in line with GDPR and company standards

EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Previous experience in the housing industry, particularly within planning, property development, or housing administration
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • A confident and professional communication style, with experience handling queries from a range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Immediate availability to start work
