Management Accountant
Job Description
As a Management Accountant you will play a crucial role in our clients finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with various departments, providing financial insights and helping to drive business performance.
Hybrid and flexible working is available with this opportunity and is based in Northampton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct cost analysis and support cost control initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain and improve financial reporting systems and processes.
- Support the Finance Manager in ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
