Accounts Payable Team Leader
North Leicester | 3-Month Temporary Contract | Up to £20 per hour | Hybrid

Macildowie is delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in North Leicester to recruit an Accounts Payable Team Leader on a 3-month temporary basis. This is an immediate opportunity to step into a pivotal role and support the business through a period of operational change.

The Role:

As Accounts Payable Team Leader, you'll report to the Finance Manager and lead a team of seven Finance Assistants. Your role will be critical in maintaining continuity and stability across the purchase ledger function, ensuring supplier payments are processed efficiently and accurately while supporting ongoing process changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management - Oversee the day-to-day activity of the Accounts Payable team, delegating tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Transaction Oversight - Ensure the accurate processing of invoices, expenses, and supplier payments.
  • Supplier Engagement - Resolve payment queries, manage key supplier relationships, and maintain strong lines of communication.
  • Process Support - Provide input into process improvements and help embed any new ways of working during the period of change.
  • Internal Collaboration - Work cross-functionally to support on boarding of new suppliers and respond to internal payment queries.

What We're Looking For:

You'll bring significant experience within Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable, including prior responsibility for leading or supervising a team. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership, and provide stability in a dynamic environment.

Ideal Background:

  • Strong experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage 50, SAP Concur).
  • Confident Excel user and comfortable managing high-volume transactional data.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams during busy or transitional periods.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid setup and adaptable to organisational change.
