Are you a hands-on Finance Manager looking to make a real impact in a growing SME where your voice matters and your work drives meaningful change?
We're delighted to be working with a well-established, entrepreneurial SME based in Ipswich, currently seeking a proactive Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day finance function and partner with the senior leadership team.
This is a key appointment within the business-ideal for someone commercially astute who thrives in a broad, varied role and enjoys getting involved in both strategic planning and operational delivery.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you'll report to the Finance Director and work closely with department heads. Responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of the month-end process and production of management accounts
- Forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- VAT returns, payroll oversight, and statutory compliance
- Leading process improvements and supporting systems development
- Providing insightful analysis to support business decisions
- Managing relationships with external stakeholders, including accountants and banks
- Overseeing a small finance team (or sole responsibility, depending on size)
Experience:
We're looking for someone who brings:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- A hands-on approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Excellent financial reporting and forecasting skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- A commercial mindset and genuine interest in business performance
