Macildowie are working with a national, multi-site organisation based in Derby (Pride Park) to recruit a Payroll Officer on a permanent basis. This role supports the payroll function during a period of rapid growth and systems change, offering the chance to make a real impact within a collaborative, hybrid team environment.
Key Details:
* Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
* Contract: Permanent
* Hours/Arrangement: Full-time, hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
* Sector: Multi-site services - national presence
Role Overview:
Reporting into the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer will oversee the delivery of accurate, timely payroll across more than 30 separate sites, covering 1,000+ employees. As the organisation upgrades its HR systems, this role will also contribute to implementation activity, data integrity, and improved reporting processes.
Responsibilities include: payroll data preparation, BrightPay processing (training provided), supporting compliance, handling queries, managing starters/leavers, and conducting post-payroll checks.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience managing payroll in a multi-site or high-volume environment
* Familiarity with payroll compliance and HR systems
* Excellent Excel skills including VLOOKUP
* Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
