Accounts Assistant (Junior) - Purchase Ledger

Salary: £26,000
Hours: Full-time, on-site (Monday-Friday)
Reports to: UK Finance Manager
The role
You'll support the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger and wider finance tasks, learning from an experienced team while building core skills.
What you'll do
Process supplier invoices: upload/scan, register, verify parts/subcontract invoices, code once approved, and file.
Handle supplier enquiries and liaise with managers to keep invoices moving.
Help prepare payment runs (including ad-hoc payments) and process company credit cards using our new software.
Reconcile supplier statements and assist with bank reconciliations when needed.
Produce simple reports to chase outstanding invoices; flag issues to the Finance Manager.
Assist with VAT report preparation (UK company-Spain & Germany; German company-Germany) with guidance.
Support month-end with ad-hoc reports and tasks.
Create new Sales Ledger accounts, assist with SL reconciliations, and produce debtor reports for cover.
About you
Studying AAT (Level 2/3) or recently completed.
Strong attention to detail, organised, and comfortable working to deadlines.
Clear communicator-confident with suppliers and internal teams.
Good understanding of Excel (filters, basic formulas; we'll teach the rest).
Team player who can also work accurately on their own tasks.
