Assistant Accountant - Fixed Assets
Job Description
Macildowie are working with this Northamptonshire based client to recruit an Assistant Accountant - Fixed Assets on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role requires two days per week on-site and offers the chance to join a global organisation in a hands-on, analytical finance role.
You will take ownership of fixed asset processes, ensuring accuracy in SAP, supporting VAT returns, and working closely with the management accounting team to deliver timely month-end reporting.
What you'll do:
- Creating and maintaining fixed assets in SAP, including disposals, depreciation runs, and related journals
- Performing fixed asset reconciliations and quarterly reviews with stakeholders
- Supporting accruals, prepayments, nominal analysis, and cost reporting at month-end
- Assisting with VAT returns and transactional finance activities
- Providing analysis and insight to support financial reporting and management decision-making
- Working collaboratively with management accountants and other finance colleagues
What you'll need:
- Ideally actively studying AAT level 4 / CIMA / ACCA
- Strong experience with SAP, particularly in fixed asset maintenance
- Analytically minded with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insight
- Solid accounting knowledge, including accruals and prepayments
- Comfortable in a transactional finance environment with month-end deadlines
- Confident communicator able to work across diverse teams and markets
