Payroll Administrator
Job Description
Payroll Administrator - Hybrid / Permanent Derby | £28,000 - £32,000 | Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Key Responsibilities
Accurately process monthly payrolls in line with strict deadlines
Handle employee onboarding and updates within the timekeeping system
Review payslips and payroll validation reports, identifying and correcting discrepancies
Input legislative payroll documents including P45, P46, P6, student loans, court orders, and tax credits
Own the annual P11D reporting process
Ensure P60 statements are produced and distributed within statutory timeframes
Draft ad hoc employment letters with precision and professionalism
Provide first-line payroll support to employees and managers
Investigate and resolve payroll queries promptly
Contribute to team meetings and department-wide initiatives
Perform additional administrative tasks to support the Payroll Manager and team
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' payroll experience
Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and basic formulas)
Confident understanding of Tax, National Insurance, and manual calculation methods
Solid grasp of current payroll legislation
Awareness of employment law including maternity/paternity pay and national minimum wage
Experience using payroll systems such as ResourceLink or SAGE
