Job Description

Management Accountant | Nottingham | £35,000 - £40,000 + Study Support | Office-Based

I'm working with a privately owned business in Nottingham with an impressive client list of well-known national brands. They've got a flat structure, real autonomy, and a CFO who wants finance to challenge and influence things - not just report on them after the fact.

They're looking for a Management Accountant to be the finance lead across all live jobs. It's not technical-heavy, but it is detail-heavy. You'll work closely with the project teams to keep margins on track, spot issues before they become costly, and help the business stay commercially sharp across everything they do. It's a unique opportunity at this level to be deeply involved in how the business conducts itself, working closely with the CFO and CEO.

What the role looks like:

  • Job-by-job margin tracking - real-time cost control, not post-mortem analysis
  • Forecasting and budgeting support across live projects
  • Regular liaison with the CFO and CEO - this is a visible role
  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the business to keep your finger on the pulse of ongoing projects.
  • Ad hoc reporting, analysis, and operational input where needed
  • Monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations etc.

What they're looking for:

  • Someone numerate, proactive, and comfortable chasing down answers
  • Experience in a manufacturing or project-led environment would fit well
  • AAT, part-qualified, or QBE - they're flexible on background as long as you're strong on delivery
  • Someone who's not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck into costings, timelines, and stakeholder conversations

Why it's a great move:

  • Salary up to £40,000 + Study Support
  • You'll report directly into a CFO who'll back you to make an impact
  • There's scope to influence and not just report
  • The business is stable, with a strong pipeline of repeat work from established clients

This is the kind of role that can really accelerate your career, giving you hands-on experience across project accounting, cost control and business partnering - three of the most in-demand skills in finance right now.
