Credit Controller - Part-Time
Location: Leicester (LE4)
Salary: Up to £28,000 (Full-Time Environment) - (20 hours per week)
Type: Permanent, Office-Based
Macildowie are working with this client based in Leicester who are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Credit Controller to join their finance team on a part-time basis.
This role is integral to ensuring the smooth running of the credit control function, from vetting new customers and setting credit limits, through to managing overdue debts and maintaining accurate financial records. You'll be working with a varied client base across multiple sectors, building strong relationships while safeguarding the business from risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out credit checks and set appropriate credit limits.
Monitor and chase overdue debts across 650-800 accounts.
Negotiate repayment plans and escalate problematic accounts when necessary.
Manage Direct Debits, remittances, and reconciliations.
Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring queries are resolved promptly.
Support the wider finance and invoicing team with reporting and ad hoc duties.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience in credit control, ideally within an SME/owner-managed environment.
Strong communication skills - able to adapt to large corporate clients and sole traders alike.
Confident user of Excel and finance systems (Sage 200 advantageous).
Organised, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A pragmatic and firm approach to debt management, combined with a personable style.
