Our client is a long-established, family-run business within the logistics and warehousing industry, operating to recognised compliance standards and supporting high-profile retail and manufacturing customers.
Role: Accounts Assistant - with Study Support
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 - Dependent on experience
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time - 35 hours a week
Working Arrangement: Office-based, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility for family emergencies

The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional looking to take ownership of the client invoicing function while growing into a broader business partnering role. You'll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial data, streamlining processes, and delivering commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the client invoicing process with accuracy and attention to detail
- Deliver weekly and monthly revenue analysis to support forecasting and commercial planning
- Assist with variance analysis and reporting for senior management
- Support the maintenance of the sales ledger and contribute to a healthy aged debt position
- Work with integrated systems including Sage, PaperLess, and warehouse platforms such as Microlistics
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and ensure financial compliance
- Liaise with internal teams (Finance, Operations, Commercial) and external partners to resolve queries
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a finance support role covering invoicing, reconciliations, reporting, and ledger activity
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Commercial awareness and an ability to interpret financial data
- Familiarity with Sage and/or warehouse management systems is beneficial
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, service-led environment
