Head of Accounts Payable - £45,000 to £55,000 | Permanent | Hybrid Working
Location: Desborough, Northamptonshire (NN14)
Macildowie are working with this client based in Desborough to recruit a permanent Head of Accounts Payable for a growing regional manufacturing and distribution business.
With a turnover of over £130m and multiple sites across the UK and Ireland, this is a well-established business that has experienced significant growth within its finance function over the last 12 months. This role will lead the Accounts Payable function, managing a small team and ensuring all processes are delivered accurately and on time. You will play a key role in the delivery of a new PO system and work closely with stakeholders across the wider UK and European finance teams.
Package:
- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
- Permanent, full-time role
- Hybrid working - typically 3 days on-site
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team
- Lead, support, and develop a team of AP Assistants
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries efficiently
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices in AP
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Report into the Head of Finance and collaborate with wider finance teams including FP&A and Credit Control
About You:
- Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
- Confident in systems, with experience of PO implementation or systems changes being advantageous
- Detail-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
