Finance Assistant

Location: Hybrid
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are partnered exclusively with one of the UK's leading online retail businesses to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their growing finance team.

This well-established organisation operates within a fast-paced e-commerce environment, supplying high-quality products to both homeowners and trade customers nationwide. With a strong digital presence and a customer-first approach, the business continues to invest in its people, systems, and technology to support ongoing growth and innovation.

The Role

The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions and maintaining strong financial controls.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure within a progressive and commercially driven business, while contributing to month-end processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions accurately and efficiently

  • Posting invoices, credit notes, and payments

  • Managing supplier and customer queries in a timely and professional manner

  • Completing bank reconciliations and cash postings

  • Assisting with month-end close activities

  • Maintaining accurate financial records in line with company policies

  • Supporting audit preparation and documentation

  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to resolve discrepancies

  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

Systems & Technology

  • Daily use of Microsoft Dynamics

  • Working with integrated e-commerce platforms and payment systems

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role

  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Intermediate Excel skills
