Interim Accountant (PQ+ level)
Leicester (5 days on-site)
£180 - £225 per day (Umbrella)
Minimum 6-month
Our client, a well-established and successful UK organisation, is looking for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join their finance team during a busy period.
This role sits within a large corporate finance function and focuses on maintaining the integrity of stock accounting and financial controls. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the finance team with balance sheet reconciliations, stock validation, and month-end accounting processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial accounting fundamentals who enjoys working in a structured environment with a focus on accuracy, controls, and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations relating to stock
- Post and review journal entries, ensuring accurate debit and credit postings
- Review and validate stock quantities and associated costing information
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of stock valuation reporting
- Carry out reconciliation checks and investigate discrepancies where required
- Maintain strong financial controls across stock accounting processes
- Support senior finance leadership during month-end close activities
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting (debits and credits)
- Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced Excel capability
- Strong attention to detail with a controls-focused mindset
- Experience working within a large or corporate business
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a stock / inventory accounting environment
- Experience with SQL
