Payroll Assistant - Leicester
Macildowie are working with this client based in Leicester on an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join their growing payroll team.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Arrangement: Office-based, Meridian Business Park, Leicester
Our client is a forward-thinking accountancy practice with ambitions to grow further. As a Payroll Assistant, you will support the payroll department by processing and managing payrolls for a diverse range of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and processing payrolls for a variety of clients
- Set up new starters, process leavers, and maintain payroll records
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC
- Support pension contributions and auto-enrolment compliance
- Respond to client queries and manage correspondence with HMRC
- Assist with year-end returns and P60 preparation
- Support payroll initiatives and ad hoc projects as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience within a payroll environment
- Knowledge of payroll legislation and auto-enrolment
- Sage 50cloud Payroll experience desirable but not essential
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
