Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, values-led manufacturing organisation to recruit a People Advisor to join their People Team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating in a visible, hands-on environment and working closely with managers to drive a positive, high-performing culture. There is genuine potential for this role to become permanent.

The Role

As People Advisor, you will act as a trusted partner to managers across the business, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle.

This is a proactive, operational role where you will balance day-to-day employee relations casework with engagement initiatives, recruitment support and data-driven decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising and coaching managers on employee relations matters including absence, conduct, performance and grievances
  • Managing ER cases through to resolution with a fair, balanced and compliant approach
  • Supporting recruitment activity including interviews, onboarding and agency liaison
  • Championing colleague engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives
  • Supporting business change and workforce planning
  • Contributing to internal communications and colleague forums
  • Supporting the delivery of People surveys and driving meaningful follow-up actions
  • Promoting effective performance conversations and development planning
  • Maintaining accurate People systems and records in line with legislation and best practice
  • Using People data and insights to support informed business decisions
  • Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards
  • This role is office-based on the outskirts of Leicester City Centre, with flexibility around start and finish times. It would suit someone who enjoys being present within the business and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • About You
  • We are looking for a confident and approachable HR professional who can build credibility quickly and is comfortable influencing and challenging where appropriate.

You will ideally have:

  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
  • Experience managing an ER caseload end-to-end
  • Strong coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within manufacturing, food production or a fast-paced operational environment (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law
  • Strong IT skills including MS365 and HR systems
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
