Interim Senior HR Advisor
Job Description
Interim Senior HR Advisor
Nottingham
£45,000–£55,000
3–6 Month Interim Assignment
4 Days On Site / 1 Day Working From Home
Exclusive Opportunity | Potential to Become Permanent
Macildowie are working with this client based in Nottingham on an exclusive basis to recruit an experienced Interim Senior HR Advisor for an initial 3–6 month assignment.
There is also the potential for the role to develop into a permanent opportunity, subject to the future structure of the UK HR team.
This is a genuinely hands-on operational HR role within a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will spend four days per week on site in Nottingham, with one day working from home, alongside approximately one visit per month to a smaller operation in Knaresborough.
You’ll provide practical, visible HR support to managers and employees, taking ownership of a broad remit covering employee relations, organisational change, HR operations and payroll coordination.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing ER matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability
- Advising and coaching operational managers through formal people processes
- Supporting organisational and workforce change and employee consultation
- Preparing employee communications, consultation documentation and contractual paperwork
- Managing employee lifecycle activity including starters, leavers and contractual changes
- Maintaining accurate HR records and employee documentation
- Coordinating payroll inputs with an outsourced payroll provider
- Checking payroll outputs and supporting payroll approval
- Providing visible, pragmatic HR support across the operation
- Identifying and escalating emerging people and employment risks
What we’re looking for:
- Strong HR generalist experience at Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor or similar level
- Previous experience within manufacturing, factory, warehousing, distribution or another operational environment
- Significant hands-on employee relations experience
- Strong practical knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Experience supporting organisational change and employee consultation
- Confidence dealing with changes to working arrangements and terms and conditions
- Strong employee lifecycle and HR administration experience
- Experience supporting payroll processes
- A pragmatic, hands-on and delivery-focused approach
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience would be advantageous
This is very much an operational HR position rather than a corporate HRBP role. You’ll need to be comfortable moving between complex ER matters, manager coaching, organisational change and detailed HR administration.
If you’re available for an interim assignment and enjoy working closely with an operational workforce, please apply or contact Macildowie for further information.
