Due to continued growth and investment, Macildowie are recruiting for an Ecommerce Manager to join a well-established business operating within the construction and trade sector.
This is a newly created role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to shape and develop the ecommerce function from the ground up. Working as part of a dynamic, innovative and fast-paced sales and marketing team, you will play a pivotal role in driving online revenue, improving customer experience and supporting the business's ambitious growth plans.
This position would suit a commercially minded ecommerce professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys taking ownership of digital performance.
The Role
As Ecommerce Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and optimisation of the company's ecommerce platform, ensuring customers enjoy a seamless online experience while maximising sales opportunities.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across sales, marketing, product and operations to deliver engaging online campaigns, improve website performance and support the wider commercial strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and optimising the ecommerce website to maximise traffic, conversion and revenue.
- Developing and implementing the ecommerce strategy in line with business objectives.
- Monitoring website performance and user behaviour through analytics tools.
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer journeys and user experience.
- Managing online merchandising, product listings and promotional activity.
- Working with marketing colleagues to deliver digital campaigns and drive online engagement.
- Overseeing SEO, onsite search functionality and content optimisation.
- Analysing sales data, customer trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate product information and stock availability.
- Producing regular performance reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Managing relationships with external agencies and technology partners where required.
- Staying up to date with ecommerce trends, technologies and industry best practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within an Ecommerce Manager, Ecommerce Executive or Digital Commerce role.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms and website management.
- Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics and reporting platforms.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of SEO, CRO and digital marketing principles.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience within a trade, construction, manufacturing or B2B environment would be advantageous, although not essential.
