Organisation: Institute of Swimming
Location: Loughborough with Hybrid working arrangment
Hours: Part time - 28 hours per week
Salary: £48,654 -£51,000 (full time equivalent)
About the Role
We're looking for a strategic, self-driven Head of Marketing & Communications to lead and shape all marketing activity for the Institute of Swimming, the UK's leading provider of swimming teacher training.
This is a unique opportunity to operate with autonomy, owning the full marketing life cycle from strategic planning through to execution and reporting.
You'll play a key role in influencing the direction of the business, working across both B2C and B2B audiences, and making a visible impact on the future of swimming education in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual marketing plan aligned to Institute of Swimming strategy.
- Deliver multi-channel campaigns (digital, email, social, PR, advertising).
- Manage and protect brand identity across all activity.
- Track and report on KPIs, including engagement, conversions, and bookings.
- Support the launch of new products and programmes.
- Optimise the website for user experience, SEO, and bookings.
- Build relationships across Swim England and with external partners.
- Manage agency performance to ensure ROI.
- Oversee the marketing budget.
- Keep up to date with trends in digital, social, and influencer marketing.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a senior marketing role, such as Head of Marketing or Senior Marketing Manager.
- Expertise in executing and analysing integrated campaigns across digital, email, social media, PR, and advertising platforms.
- Proven experience in managing marketing budgets and ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both consumer and trade audiences effectively.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated team player with a cohesive and collaborative working style
Desirable Experience
- Experience in managing relationships with external agencies, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and value delivery.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and website optimisation techniques to enhance user experience and engagement.
- Background in planning and executing events that promote brand presence and engage target audiences.
- Experience in leveraging influencer partnerships and social media platforms to drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Understanding of commercial marketing strategies and experience in driving revenue growth through marketing initiatives.
