Job Description

Job Title: Head of Safeguarding
Location: Loughborough / Hybrid
Hours: Full-time, permanent. Monday - Friday

Overview:

Our client, a leading organisation in the sports sector, is seeking a Head of Safeguarding to lead and improve safeguarding practices across the organisation, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in sport. This role involves managing safeguarding operations, leading high-risk cases, and driving a positive culture of safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Safeguarding team to improve operational delivery and effectiveness.
  • Ensure safeguarding practices meet national standards, legislation, and best practice.
  • Regularly update safeguarding policies, processes, and training.
  • Engage with internal teams to foster a positive safeguarding culture.
  • Lead high-harm cases, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Implement a quality assurance framework for continuous improvement.
  • Use data to design proactive, preventative safeguarding solutions.
  • Drive the implementation of safeguarding actions aligned with strategic priorities.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Extensive senior safeguarding experience in high-risk, high-volume environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding laws and statutory guidance.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing sensitive, high-profile safeguarding cases.
  • A role model for safeguarding practices within the organisation.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the sporting sector, particularly safeguarding in sport.
