Remote - covering North West Region
Up to £55,000 + commission
Monday to Friday
Macildowie are working with this client based in the North West to recruit a BDM for a growing, design-led manufacturer within the construction sector. You will take ownership of identifying, developing and converting major project opportunities across the North West, with a focus on commercial, public sector, retail, distribution, hospitality, leisure, external spaces, residential developments and refurbishment projects.
Working closely with Area Sales Representatives, internal sales, wholesale partners and wider project teams, you will focus on larger-scale opportunities while ensuring customers are supported with product knowledge, lighting design requirements and a consultative sales approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, contractors and specifiers.
- Identify, track and convert large-scale project opportunities across the North West.
- Regularly visit new and existing customers with future project potential.
- Follow up project leads through CRM, Barbour ABI, internal sales, wholesale channels and industry contacts.
- Work collaboratively with Area Sales Representatives on larger project opportunities.
- Manage and report on your project pipeline.
- Achieve and exceed monthly project sales and gross profit targets.
- Provide technical and commercial support to customers throughout the project process.
- Recommend LED lighting solutions across domestic, hospitality, leisure, commercial, external spaces and student accommodation projects.
- Take ownership of customer issues or complaints within your area.
- Keep CRM records and day-to-day sales administration accurate and up to date.
About You
- Previous experience in a sales, product or commercial role is essential.
- Experience within the lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Lighting design experience is essential, including knowledge of Relux and/or Dialux.
- A proven track record of developing and winning large-scale project sales.
- Strong understanding of contractors, wholesalers, specifiers and project-led sales channels.
- Technical confidence across commercial and industrial lighting applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a project pipeline effectively.
- A proactive, driven and self-motivated approach to developing new business.
