Head of Finance
Job Description
Macildowie are working with a client based in Loughborough to recruit a Head of Finance for a growing and reputable organisation.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a primarily office-based working arrangement and occasional travel to operational sites.
This opportunity would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys being hands-on while also operating as a key member of the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective management of financial operations across a multi-site organisation.
The role will involve overseeing management accounts, payroll processes, cashflow management, reconciliations, credit control, budgeting, and financial reporting. You will also work closely with operational stakeholders to improve financial understanding and support commercial decision-making across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the day-to-day finance operations across the organisation
- Producing monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis
- Managing payroll input, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and banking processes
- Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations
- Managing cashflow, debt recovery, and reconciliations
- Supporting year-end processes and liaising with external auditors
- Leading and developing the finance team
- Working collaboratively with operational teams to support budget control and financial performance
The successful candidate will ideally be:
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified
- Experienced within a senior finance or accounts management role
- Confident producing management accounts and overseeing payroll processes
- Experienced working within multi-site environments
- Proficient with Sage 200, Sage 50 Payroll, and Microsoft Excel
- A strong communicator who can present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
