Job Description

 I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable law firm in Nottingham seeking a proactive and organised Property Legal Assistant to join their busy Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous legal administration or conveyancing support experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to fee earners, assisting with residential and/or commercial property transactions from instruction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing administrative support to solicitors and fee earners within the Property department.
  • Opening and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Preparing legal documents, correspondence and completion statements.
  • Managing client onboarding processes, including ID verification and compliance checks.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and third parties.
  • Requesting searches and obtaining property-related documentation.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails and post efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records and updating databases.
  • Assisting with exchange and completion processes.
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements.
  • Supporting the team with general office and administrative duties as required.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Assistant or similar support role.
  • Experience within residential or commercial property law is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • A positive, professional and team-oriented approach.
