Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 (Dependent On Experience)
Type: Permanent - Full time Office Based
Working hours: 8:30am - 17:00pm - with a 1 hour lunch
Macildowie are working with this client based in Wellingborough to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a highly respected business in the automotive and technology solutions sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit finance team within a fast-paced SME environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of key transactional finance responsibilities and provide support across two separate entities. This role is suited to a confident Accounts Assistant who enjoys the variety of full end-to-end accounts and is comfortable working in a small finance team.
Role Summary:
You will be handling manual processing tasks, managing 160 sales invoices and 80-100 purchase invoices monthly (of varying value), and working with Cashflow and Sage 50 systems. The business is also transitioning to Xero, so system migration support will be required.
You'll be part of a small, collaborative finance team:
- Financial Controller
- Management Accountant
- Assistant Accountant
- Accounts Assistant (this role)
Key Responsibilities:
- Raising 160 sales ledger invoices per month
- Processing 80-100 purchase invoices monthly (high and low value)
- Credit control and maintaining customer accounts
- Posting and reconciling cash across group companies
- Ownership of direct debit processing
- Bank reconciliations and tax returns
- Assisting with payroll processing for one of the entities
- Supporting management accounts and month-end duties
- Investigating and resolving ledger queries
- Supporting the Cashflow-to-Xero migration
- Ad-hoc finance and admin tasks
About You:
- Experience in an SME finance setting is preferred
- AAT qualified or actively studying is preferred
- Confident working with end-to-end accounts processes
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Sage 50 and Cashflow experience is beneficial (Xero desirable)
