Job Description

Job Title - Accounts Administrator
Location - Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17
Salary - £28,000 (depending on experience)
Type - Permanent, Full Time
Hours - 37.5 hours per week (8:30-16:30)

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join a small finance team in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. This is an exciting, hands-on role for someone with previous accounts experience who thrives in a dynamic and varied environment. You will be involved in a range of finance functions and have the opportunity to work closely with other teams, including sales, credit control, and purchasing.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist with finance-related queries
  • Liaise with the Field Sales, Telesales, and Key Accounts teams
  • Manage emails in the shared finance inbox
  • Post daily banking receipts and support bank reconciliations
  • Take customer payments and manage part of the debtor ledger
  • Assist with credit control activities and help reconcile supplier statements at month-end
  • Provide cover for other finance team members during absences
  • Assist the Financial Controller with ad-hoc reporting and administrative tasks
  • Support the Purchasing team with administration for imported goods
  • Perform other appropriate administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a similar accounts or finance role
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • A self-sufficient, problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Clear, polite, and professional communication skills
  • A willingness to learn new systems and adapt to varied tasks
  • Experience with large ERP systems is a plus
