Job Description
We are partnering with a leading supplier of healthcare equipment to recruit a Finance Assistant on a permanent, office-based basis with hybrid-working possibilities.
Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 (Dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Arrangement: Office-based in Bedfordshire, with potential for hybrid flexibility
Role Overview
You'll join the Finance team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions by delivering efficient and reliable management of the purchase ledger-from invoice processing to supplier reconciliations and payments. Your diligence will support essential month-end, audit, and supplier processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and promptly
- Match purchase orders to invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process supplier payments
- Respond professionally to supplier queries
- Maintain up-to-date supplier records
- Support month-end ledger reconciliations and reporting
- Monitor aged creditors and ensure timely payments
- Assist with year-end audit preparations
- Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding invoice queries
- Participate in continuous process improvement across finance functions
- Understand and support broader finance roles as required
Essential Criteria
- Strong numerical and data-entry skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare products, wholesale, or distribution sectors
- AAT-qualified or working towards a similar finance qualification (Advantageous)
